FADeRiS is a workshop dedicated to the Foundations and Applications of Decentralized Risk Sharing. The latter is broadly understood as the study of risk-sharing markets in which risks are shared within a pool, as opposed to classical insurance markets where an insurance provider absorbs the relevant risks. Examples include peer-to-peer (P2P) insurancepooled annuity funds, and tontines. A satellite event is organized on Wednesday June 4 morning to discuss matters related to innovations in risk sharing and risk management, in the context of worsening of natural disasters due to climate change.

The first edition of the workshop was held at KU Leuven in 2023, and the second edition at the University of Ulm in 2024. The third edition will be held at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, in the heart of Paris.
